After working in Algarve International Circuit last November for the 2020 MotoGP final race, we are working again in Portugal for the first MotoGP race in Europe.
Our Safety Team is on-site to ensure safety during next weekend competitions (16/04 – 18/04), that are actually in the spotlight due to the announced Marquez return.
The equipment chosen by the Autodromo International Algarve is the SPM Airpad, FIM Approved.
During last season we protected numerous other circuits during important events:
– Estoril Circuit, for the FIM Endurance World Championship EWC (23-26 September 2020) and for the WorldSBK Grand Finale (16-18 October 2020);
– Circuit Ricardo Tormo, during two MotoGP stages (6-8 November and 13-15 November);
– Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, for the Gran Premio Monster Energy de Catalunya MotoGp (25-27 September).
Everything is ready for the Jasnà competitionshttps://www.spm-sport.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Jasna_SK_3.jpg20001334SPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
After the World Ski Championships in Cortina, the 2020/2021 Alpine Ski World Cup season has entered the decisive month: in fact, there are only two weeks left until the Lenzerheide Finals and the athletes are pulling out their claws to win the Cups still under discussion.
We will be protagonists of the upcoming races, starting with the women’s ones on Saturday and Sunday in Jasnà with Matias2, passing through the Swedish venue of Åre with the partner Avanti Alpinand ending the season in the splendid Swiss location from 17 to 21 March 2021 with our partner Heval.
The men of our Safety Team have already finished assembling our best products in Jasnà: standard mats and air pads for the ski slope and the finish area, type B protection nets, all the slalom poles and much more.
Again, the materials on the ski slope are strictly Made in Italy!
And while the Organizing Committee is preparing the event, home athlete Petra Vlhová is training rigorously with SPM poles and gates.
After Cortina, we’re already thinking about Meribel Courchevel 2023SPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
A few days after the end of the event, we want to congratulate the Organizing Committee and all the staff of Cortina 2021 who, with precision and skill, made the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships a unique and unforgettable moment.
Our congratulations also go to all the athletes and teams who have been preparing every day, for years, with our equipment.
Among the teams that train with SPM slalom poles and the incomparable Brush Grip base, here are the best three of Cortina 2021:
And after disassembling our material from the beautiful Vertigine, the debut ski slope during the FIS Alpine Ski Championships just ended, we move our thoughts to Courchevel Meribel 2023 where, together with our partner VS Vidori Silvano and VOLA Racing, we are working to ensure the ski slope that will be used during the next kermesse!
VERTIGINE BIANCA: the new ski slope for Cortina Alpine Ski ChampionshipsSPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
Start Area – Vertigine Bianca – Cortina
In Cortina took place a thorough action to protect the environment and the landscape: the meticulous reconstruction of two ski slopes – Vertigine Bianca and Canalone – allowed to prepare an ideal selective run for the speed disciplines in view of the upcoming Alpine World Ski Championships.
For this, the Organizing Committee has given the best industry experts, SPM and VS Vidori Silvano, the task of installing the protections needed to ensure maximum security for the event of the year, setting up more than 1km of Safety A nets, consisting of fixed and lattice towers.
The two companies took care of other important works for the main events of the next few years: the Courchevel 2023 World Championships and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
In China, SPM and VS set up 13 km of Structures Type A on the ski slopes that will be used for the speed events and won orders regarding all B nets, protective mats (air pads and standard) and all the slalom poles that will be used for alpine skiing competitions. The slopes, also in this case, were built ad hoc and have several difficult passages (walls, bottlenecks, exposed rocks).
In France, SPM has won two major tenders for the Alpine Ski Championships Courchevel Meribel 2023: the first regarding the safety of the slopes will host the speed male events in Courchevel, the second related to safety materials for Meribel, where female races will take place. Also in this case we are talking about important numbers for a supply of 1.5 km of type A safety nets in collaboration with VS, with over 70 iron poles in Courchevel, 2 km of B nets, 1.5 km of delimitation nets and more than 30 air protection mats.
But let us return to Cortina, and the new ski slope set by SPM and VS: Vertigine Bianca is an extremely technical slope that runs on the Tofana di Mezzo and will be the perfect stage for the men’s Downhill and SuperG.
Canalone Jump – Vertigine Bianca – Cortina
Over 2.7 km long with an altitude difference of 840 meters, Vertigine has an average gradient of 31% and a maximum of 62%. The starting scenario is suggestive and unique in the world: the initial part of the race track is not served by the lifts and can only be reached on foot. From there, athletes dominate the entire Ampezzo valley.
In addition to the beautiful Canalone jump, one of the most important points of the slope is the Ghedina Jump, a spectacular jump of over sixty meters, in the steep section, sideways, under the connection between the Olimpia slope, the old Vertigine Bianca, the Canalone. It is estimated that the athletes will reach the speed of 130 km / h, with very demanding trajectories.
The finish area is a magnificent natural amphitheatre which, for the first time, will see a worldwide event – unfortunately – in the absence of an audience.
The new track will then make its international debut with men’s speed event during the 2021 World Championships.
The two companies are looking forward to seeing their “ski slope hero” in the most important event of the year for alpine skiing!
THE WEEK OF MEN’S SLALOM RACES: SCHLADMING & CHAMONIXSPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
A week completely dedicated to Men’s Alpine Ski World Cup slalom races is about to begin.
Considering the “unfinished business” between the top athletes and the Cortina 2021 World Alpine Ski Championships that are approaching, the challenge between our slalom poles (thanks also to our partner Meingast) becomes even more exciting!
The “slalom week” does not end after tonight: our Safety Team is already on the ski slope in Chamonix (FRA), where two other men’s slaloms will be held next Saturday and Sunday.
Also in this case, and thanks to our Partner Vola Racing, the equipment on the slope is SPM and Made in Italy!
THE MOST AWAITED EVENT OF THE WHITE CIRCUSSPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
Also this year we are protagonists in one of the most anticipated events of the Alpine Ski World Cup circuit: SPM poles and safety materials will be used for the Hahnenkamm competitions! According to the FIS program, the speed athletes will be on the Streif in Kitzbühel from next Tuesday for tests and competitions: two Downhill races (one is the Wengen rescheduled race) and a Super-G.
The women are instead expected in Kranjska Gora for the Golden Fox event – initially scheduled in Maribor – where our Safety Team is working with the organizing committee for this weekend’s competition. The Slovenian ski slope will be fully equipped with SPM materials.
Courchevel-Meribel 2023, we are coming!SPMSPMhttps://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/3327ff8584fe432048e9c3d645ce379d7d8177f05f64a7f1d58a42b5a43a6708?s=96&d=mm&r=g
In recent days, we have had confirmation that we’ll secure the ski slopes that will be used for speed events during Courchevel Meribel 2023Alpine Ski Championships.
The equipment that will be supplied by us in this first moment is over 1,500m of Type A Structure.
This first positive result is also due to an excellent collaboration with the partner for the safety structures VS – Vidori Silvano and VOLA Racing, our partner for the French market. Other tenders dedicated to the event are already underway.
And after providing the return of the World Cup races in Chamonix last season, we are ready for a new French event: Courchevel Meribel 2023, we are coming!
